Piazza di Spagna (The Spanish Steps): Undoubtedly one of the most celebrated and evocative sites in Rome. Known from the XVIIth century as Platea Trinitatis, for the Chiesa Trinità dei Monti lying on top of the steps, it eventually earned the name Piazza di Spagna (Spain's Square), being the headquarters of the Spanish Embassy. A distinctive element of the square is the Barcaccia Fountain, created by Pietro Bernini in1629. (50 mt. from the Hotel).
The Trevi Fountain: The largest fountain in Rome and possibly the most famous in the world. The Trevi Fountain, built in the 1700's by a project of Nicolò Salvi, is a blend of Baroque and Classic styles. Even the cinema was bound to pay homage to the magnificence of this fountain: in the famous scene of Fellini's “La Dolce Vita”, the actress Anita Ekberg bathes in the fountain inviting the protagonist Marcello Mastroianni to follow her. The Pantheon: The Pantheon is a remarkable edifice of Ancient Rome, originally a temple devoted to All the Gods (that is the meaning of Pantheon), or rather to the Seven Planetary Divinities: Sun, Moon, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury, and Mars. undeniably the best preserved and most representative monument of the Ancient Romans. Today illustrious tombs are located in this temple, such as those of Victor Emanuel II, Umberto I and Margherita of Savoia. (500 mt. from the Hotel).
The Colosseum: The symbol of the city of Rome, the Colosseum, originally known as the Flavian amphitheater, was started at the beginning of 72 A.D. by the will of Emperor Vespasian. It is the most famous Roman amphitheater, holding 50,000 spectators and thus considered the most important amphitheater of the imperial age. It has been proclaimed one of the Seven Wonders of the World. (1,5 km from the Hotel).
Piazza Navona: Piazza Navona is most famous baroque piazza and it is located where rose the Domitian arena in Ancient Roman times, where athletics races where held and the "naumachie" (ship battles) were staged. The square is in a certain sense the pearl of baroque Rome, with architectonic and sculpting elements of masters such as G. Lorenzo Bernini (see the Fountain of the Four Rivers (1 km. from the Hotel).
Via Vittorio Veneto: Famous all over the world as the fashionable center of Rome and the symbol of the “Dolce Vita". The street’s name commemorates the battle won by Italian armies against the Austrians at Vittorio Veneto in 1918, marking the end of World War I.
